Founded in 2015 and now in it’s 7th year as a brick and mortar Film Festival, DARE TO DANCE IN PUBLIC FILM FESTIVAL (D2D) is a premiere, Los Angeles based, international film festival devoted to democratizing, celebrating, and promoting the genre of Screen Dance. D2D is a platform for dance that happens in the public realm - outside of studios and off traditional stages… dance that explores place and space - often engaging an unsuspecting public - and intersects creatively with film. D2D presents films that use dance as an urgent, visceral, universal language about what it is to be human and alive in the world TODAY.
D2D will feature three days of extraordinary film programming, and a live on-site performance before each screening.
with D2D Director/Founder Choreographer Sarah Elgart, and Director/Producer/DP Cain DeVore.
