Ashley Roland

ASHLEY ROLAND (Artistic Director) - A native of Connecticut, Ashley began her dance training at the Alvin Ailey and David Howard studios in New York, with further studies at North Carolina School of the Arts. In 1983 she joined MOMIX Dance Theater as a dancer and choreographer. In 1987 she co-founded ISO Dance, creating over thirty pieces for the company and touring to five continents. 1997 saw the birth of her latest contemporary dance company, BodyVox, which she co-founded with her partner Jamey Hampton.

Eowyn Emerald Barrett

Éowyn Barrett (choreographer) received her BFA in Contemporary dance from North Carolina School of the Arts. Her last year at NCSA was spent dancing with BodyVox as an original member of BodyVox-2. Some awards and recognition include; the RDA Monticello Award & Scholarship, a NFAA ARTS Merit Award for Choreography, three 1st place Weiler Choreography Awards, and presented work as part of 12 Minutes Max, at On the Boards.

Jason Davis

Jason Davis is a native of Tucson, Arizona and began his dance training with Mary-Beth Cabana at Ballet Arts in Tucson. He attended numerous summer dance programs including the Universal Ballet Academy, the School of American Ballet, the San Francisco Ballet School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, and Ballet Aspen.

At fifteen, he joined the Universal Ballet Academy (Kirov Academy) under the direction of Oleg Vinogradov.

Jeff George

Jeff George (dancer, BodyVox-2) Jeff George was born and raised in snowy Minnesota. He naturally gravitated to dance and choreography throughout high school. Shortly thereafter, he trained with Ballet Arts of Minnesota and Broadway Dance Center in New York.

Kailee McMurran

Kailee McMurran spent her young years moving from town to town across the western coast, ending the majority of her childhood in cold Alaska. She enrolled in dance & gymnastics as a tiny four year old but left dance and focused on flipping for the next eleven years. Finally as she entered high school she realized her need for the creative aspect of dance and switched full time to ballet studying under Philip Krauter at Juneau Dance Unlimited. Kailee went on graduating from Western Oregon University ['10] with a BS in Graphic Design.

Laura Haney

Laura Haney attended Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, MA, where she studied dance and music. She was a member of River North Dance Company and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, toured nationally as a featured performer in the Broadway show “Fosse” and was a cast member of the Broadway musical ‘A Christmas Carol’ for two seasons. Laura was a company member of BodyVox from 2005-2008. She is a Stott-certified Pilates instructor and has taught numerous dance workshops and master classes across the country.

Jamey Hampton

JAMEY HAMPTON (Artistic Director) was born in Portland, Oregon, where he began his dance training in the burgeoning modern dance scene of the early 1970's. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1976 with a BFA degree in Drama. He joined Pilobolus Dance Theater in 1978, setting off for his first tour to the Indian sub-continent. He was an original member of Momix, and in 1987 co-founded ISO Dance. In 1998, he co-founded BodyVox with Ashley Roland.

Elizabeth Burden

Elizabeth Burden (Teaching Artist) began her dance training at the age of 7 with Joan Shelton Mason in Wenatchee WA.  Upon moving to Portland she continued her training with Jaqueline Schumacher, and then with Barbara Remington.  Elizabeth was granted a scholarship to study in New York with the Joffrey School, then was offered a job with Pacific Ballet Theatre as an apprentice.  Elizabeth danced with PBT, then became a founding member of Oregon Ballet Theatre where she danced for 12 years.
