Jamey Hampton

JAMEY HAMPTON (Artistic Director) was born in Portland, Oregon, where he began his dance training in the burgeoning modern dance scene of the early 1970's. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1976 with a BFA degree in Drama. He joined Pilobolus Dance Theater in 1978, setting off for his first tour to the Indian sub-continent. He was an original member of Momix, and in 1987 co-founded ISO Dance. In 1998, he co-founded BodyVox with Ashley Roland.

Ashley Roland

ASHLEY ROLAND (Artistic Director) a native of Connecticut, began her dance training at the Alvin Ailey and David Howard studios in New York, with further studies at North Carolina School of the Arts. In 1983 she joined MOMIX Dance Theater as a dancer and choreographer. In 1987 she co-founded ISO Dance, creating over thirty pieces for the company and touring to five continents. 1997 saw the birth of her latest contemporary dance company, BodyVox, which she co-founded with her partner Jamey Hampton.

Eric Skinner

ERIC SKINNER (Artistic Associate, Choreographer, Performer) 
Originally from Muncie, Indiana, Eric Skinner has been working on the West Coast as both a performer and choreographer for the past twenty years. 

Eric received his B.A. in Dance from Butler University's Jordan School of Fine Arts in Indianapolis. He has danced professionally with the Milwaukee Ballet, Ballet Oregon, Pacific Ballet Theatre, Los Angeles Chamber Ballet, and was a founding member of Oregon Ballet Theatre.

Daniel Kirk

DANIEL KIRK (Performer) Although based in Portland Oregon, Daniel Kirk has extensive performance experience both nationally and internationally. His technique ranges from classical ballet to contemporary to innovative theatrical and aerial work. This eclectic style has enabled him to perform a wide variety of repertory that includes ballets by Antony Tudor, Jean Coralli, Robert Joffrey and Petipa as well as contemporary ballets by Choo San Goh, Georges Balanchine, Gerald Arpino and Val Caniparoli.

Heather Jackson

HEATHER JACKSON (Performer) Heather trained on scholarship at Rock School of Pennsylvania Ballet and at 14 became a ballet major at the University of Utah where she earned her BFA. Heather has danced with Utah Ballet and Ballet West performing classic ballets as well as works by George Balanchine and Paul Taylor. Before leaving Salt Lake, Heather was an administrator and instructor at the School of Ballet West. Since recently moving to Portland Oregon, Heather performs with BodyVox and has guested with the Portland Opera and other local companies and choreographic projects.

Zachary Carroll

ZACHARY CARROLL (Performer, Director, BodyVox-2) Zachary Carroll began his training with the legendary dancer George Zoritch in his native Tucson, Arizona. He continued his training as a full scholarship student with The National Ballet School in Toronto, Ontario. He has performed a wide variety of principal roles as a dancer in Oregon Ballet Theater, Minnesota Dance Theater, and Ballet West. His repertoire includes works by Balanchine, Taylor, Van Manen, Tudor, and many others. He currently teaches ballet in Portland, and as a guest teacher for several schools around the country

Matt Hope

MATT HOPE (Performer) grew up in Boise, Idaho where he started dancing at the American Festival Ballet (now Ballet Idaho). He went on to dance with many classical and contemporary companies including Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and the Ballet Idaho/Eugene Ballet. Matt has performed works by many notable choreographers including David Parsons, Daniel Ezralow, Twyla Tharp, James Kudelka, and Lynn Taylor Corbett. For the past ten years Matthew has worked for Ballet Idaho/Eugene Ballet as a dancer choreographer, and teacher. He also danced with choreographer Amy O’Brien in NYC and Boise.

Jonathan Krebs

JONATHAN KREBS (Performer) has performed with Josie Moseley Dance, tEEth, BodyVox, BodyVox-2, POV, Polaris Dance Theatre, Rainbow Dance Theatre and The Portland Opera.   He has worked in Marketing and Programming for White Bird in Portland, Oregon and The Joyce Theater in New York City.  He currently works as the Marketing Manager for BodyVox. He enjoys gardening, snowboarding, disc golf, fishing and riding his bike.

Mitchell Rose

MITCHELL ROSE (Filmmaker) is a frequent collaborator with BodyVox—they have now created nine films together. But prior to becoming a filmmaker, Mitchell was a New York-based choreographer specializing in comedic work and was dubbed “the dance world’s Woody Allen” by The New York Times. Places of performance included Joseph Papp’s New York Dance Festival at the Delacorte Theatre, Jacob's Pillow, the Spoleto Festivals in the U.S. and Italy, and touring throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
