Well, we are officially in and the new building is fantastic! After a long week of packing and schlepping (6 flat bed truck loads, thank you PGE, and a 25 ft moving van packed to the gills) we have moved into our new space. It is great! And there is so much room you won’t believe it. The new big studio is like a football field. Once we start dancing in it we are going to need to have a respirator on hand in case some of us quadragenarians’ get a little winded.
The move went smoothly except for the fact that you never realize what you have and how much stuff there is until you try to move it. What a trip down memory lane it was though. We came across giant boulders stuffed with physio balls, along with rock and dinosaur costumes from ‘Zapped’. Tornado’s, mini buildings and houses from ‘1000 Little Cities”. There was the giant metal cage used for "Cusp," which was also performed in ‘the Big Room’ and coming back this season. The list goes on and on, and now we have to find where it will all go in the new space. Luckily there IS space to put it in.
There is so much excitement and new energy surrounding this new adventure for BodyVox, and the ball is already rolling. The office is open for business, and Una just proudly announced we had sold our 400th season subscription. Yeah Una! Also after spending two days with Jamey and Zach putting down the Marley (dance floor), the education studio is up and running. We have started our morning company classes as well as the ballet classes that Zach and I teach during the week. Come by and take class and check out the new digs, you will be blown away.
Thank you Jamey Ashley and Gordy! We can now kick, stretch and kick for as long as our little hearts desire.
