BV On Tour

BodyVox returned recently from a successful 'Waterbodies' tour of New York and Philadelphia. I have realized that there is no such thing as a traditional tour with BodyVox. We care very much about our performances and dance hard to make sure our out of town audiences enjoy themselves. But we also make it a point to explore where we are visiting and to get a feel for what makes that place special. In Minnesota it was chanting Monks in a "Star Trek" era concrete and stained glass cathedral, a group of lovely retired nuns who blessed us after our short performance and made us all a little verklempt, and an unbelievable twitching, singing boob trophy at the "Midi" bar near the theater. All our free moments away from the stage are filled with adventure.

Our tour to New York and Philly was a little different. We all have many friends living on the East coast and this was a chance to catch up. So our adventures were sometimes separate this trip. I did spend one lucky, sunny, beautiful, day off in Manhattan with Heather. We decided the best place to be on a sunny fall day in NYC is Central Park. The park was so full of life that day.

Heather and I must have wandered around for 2 or 3 hours making our way from Columbus Circle to the beautiful Friedsam Carousel where we decided to take a ride. I think we were both surprised how fun it was. For being such an old girl, that thing moves!!

Then we walked down the long avenue that is "The Mall". There were so many performers out that day. Everything from classical strings to an Accordian. People juggling, people dressed as the Statue of Liberty, dancers, singers. It was an amazing show!

Heather and I finished up our day in the park at Bethesda Fountain near the pond and The Boat House. We were so content to just sit and people watch and soak in the last of the summer sun. It was definitely an afternoon to remember. And proof there are no dull or wasted moments with BodyVox no matter where we are!
