Shooting to Wahclella falls

Last week we took a trip to Wahclella falls to do a photo shoot for the next BodyVox calendar for 2011!

So first we went to Polara Studios to pickup all the equipment we needed and to meet up with Jay our photographer. I rode with the BodyVox dancers in Daniel's car (so class!) and enjoyed the stories Daniel and Ashley told about how people got their nickname. Anyway, we didn’t see the time pass!

During the drive it started raining and we were a little scared because we couldn’t do the photo shoot with the rain. Luckily the rain stopped and it was just cold.
To get to the falls we had to hike 1 mile with all the costumes and the photography equipment. I am not very strong, so what I had to carry was very light. So for me it wasn’t hard but a lot of the equipment was heavy and awkward, so, I think in fact the rest of the team was happy when we finally saw the waterfall!

Then it was time to get creative and express oneself! We had to find good places for the photos and good poses for the dancers! Jonathan made a friend, a tree; and Daniel a dead branch. The first place was a rock in front of the falls and the dancers had to jump barefoot on the rock (ouch!). One picture was of Daniel holding Kara as if she was coming out of the falls and another was of Ashley on a big rock coved with moss (you can see us setting up this shot on facebook). I think the images of dancers with the waterfall behind them are very beautiful.

The photo shoot was done at 7:30pm so it took the whole afternoon to take all of the crazy, funny and beautiful pictures. The hike back seemed easier and in the car we were so exhausted that we couldn’t stop thinking about a burger!

So it was a great day, intense and very interesting and it finished for at least two of us in a pub with… a hamburger!
