In February our season continues with the skinner/kirk DANCE ENSEMBLE. Led by two of Portland's most gifted dancer/choreographers, the superb program will include the trapeze duet One, new work by Eric Skinner and Daniel kirk and a new duet from acclaimed choreographer Josie Moseley.
Join us in March and enjoy the emerging talent of BodyVox-2, when our dynamic apprentices take the stage.
Finally in May we will unveil a major new show, The Cutting Room. Building upon our years of working in film, we will combine dance with a mash up of scenes from all genres of cinema – classic, independent, famous and obscure to create a production that journeys to an intersection of nostalgia, performance and innovation, where we find movies and memories at the heart of our shared experiences.
A freewheeling, multi-media, boundary-bending movement troupe, BodyVox’s unique approach to theater assimilates all possibilities for movement; endows it with breathtaking physicality; enriches it with striking imagery and embellishes it with humor, wit and whimsy to create refined dancing that knows no boundaries.
On Stage, BodyVox brings its full personality to the fore with a reputation for adventurous and innovative choreography that is challenging and engaging for committed dance fans while also remaining accessible to new audiences. A BodyVox show is a distinctive blend of dance, theater, imagery, unexpected storytelling, original cinema and human comedy.
